Fort Bend County Levee Improvement District No. 19 is a political subdivision of the State of Texas. The District is a conservation and reclamation district created by order of the Commissioners Court of Fort Bend County, Texas on October 24, 2006. The District is empowered, among other things, to purchase, construct, operate and maintain all improvements and utilities necessary for providing flood plain reclamation, flood protection, detention and outfall drainage and park and recreational facilities that serve the District and road facilities. The District presently contains approximately 791.0 acres of land and is located approximately 21 miles southwest from downtown Houston, Texas. The District lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction and corporate limits of the City of Missouri City.
